Frequently Asked Questions

  • Typically there is something we call the presenting issue. Something has changed or gone on for so long that a person is ready for support. From that presenting issue we identify goals. Everyone’s specific goals in therapy vary, because therapy is so personal. Generally people I support are looking to learn new skills to deal with stress, develop the ability to process or understand challenging experiences, or deal with the reality of living with an ongoing physical or mental health condition.

  • Online therapy, teletherapy, and virtual therapy all describe the same process. That is meeting with a therapist through an internet connection rather in person.

  • The answer to that is really up to each individual person. We all have different experiences and we all have different ways of meeting our needs and feeling fulfilled.

In general terms, therapy creates a space to identify goals, build skills and address unresolved internal and external conflict.

In other words therapy is place to find relief and/or resolution.
